Mounted Explorer Post 686

About Us!

Explorer Post 686 gives High School age young people a chance to become involved with horses in a natural setting. This group has been around since the early 1950's and has been on the PGE property since 1972. We welcome new members!

Many of our adult volunteers have been with the post since they were youth members. They joined as youth, and loved the group so much that they stayed and became adult volunteers! Spending time with horses and horse enthusiasts is addictive!!!

What we do

With us you learn all the basics of how to take care of horses. You will see dentistry, farrier work, and vaccinations. You learn how to groom and saddle, and work on riding skills. You become a better rider and you will meet friendly people who make the work go by faster. We all work hard keeping up the property and taking care of the horses, but with all the talking and laughing it doesn't seem like work!.

Fundraiser for Mounted Explorer Post  #686

 We will be hosting a breakfast at the Gresham Applebee's to raise money for the care of our horses and the maintenance of our facility. We welcome everyone of all ages to join us for a morning of food and fun for a great cause.

What: Breakfast fundraiser for Post #686 including raffle and other fun.

When: Saturday, February 25th 8-11am

ALSO: Donations needed.

We need the help of businesses to donate small prizes and gift cards for our raffle. We will accept anything from kids toys to pet supplies. No alcohol please.
